Newcastle University

The computer systems of Newcastle University were targeted by the DoppelPaymer ransomware group in September 2020.

The attack disrupted its daily operations and limited staff's access to services including email, office applications and video conference tools.

However, the University investigated the incident along with Information Commissioner’s Office and restored the systems from backup files.
