Washington Education Association

On April 12, 2021, the Maine Office of the Attorney General reported a data breach affecting the Washington Education Association (WEA) and its local affiliate, the Seattle Education Association (SEA). The breach occurred on January 4, 2021, when malware encrypted an SEA server, and potentially exposed the Social Security numbers of two Maine residents. A total of 18,531 individuals were affected overall, with WEA providing one year of credit monitoring services through TransUnion.
