New Zealand’s largest volunteer agency Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) states that it was the victim of a ransomware attack on May 2021.
As soon as VSA became aware of the attack they engaged private cyber experts, the Privacy Commission [sic], the National Computer Emergency Response Team (Cert NZ), and NZ Police.
The attack had been “a real inconvenience” but had not disrupted the deployment of any volunteers.
