Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton warned patients of a potential security breach which have exposed personal information to third party.
Hospitals became aware of the data breach in June when they discovered an unknown third party had access to patient records through an email account.
Hospital leaders have hired investigators to figure out exactly which records were impacted.
The hospital was stressing that there's no evidence that hackers stole any of the information while it was exposed, but they want everyone to be on the alert and to report any suspicious activity.
