The University of Miami experienced a data breach on October 18, 2023, involving the inadvertent disclosure of personal information on their Faculty Senate website. A total of 153 individuals were affected, including 1 resident of Maine, with compromised information consisting of names and Social Security numbers. Identity theft protection services from Kroll will be offered for 24 months to affected individuals, with notifications sent starting November 17, 2023.
