The biggest bank in Italy, UniCredit, has acknowledged that two data breaches that collectively affected 400,000 clients occurred within the past year.
The attackers may not have been able to access UniCredit customers’ accounts directly.
Affected customers were at heightened risk of follow-up phishing attacks that leverage the spilled data in order to coax out yet more sensitive information.
