The Royatonic spa in France suffered a ransomware attack. the organization informed people through a notice that, the spa had to close because a cyberattack blocked access to their server and paralyzed all their activity.
There is no data theft or hacking but they can no longer access their server.
The company said that the threat actors asked them for a ransom to give them the key. they are lucky because they come across a hacker who plays in the 3rd division and asks them for less than a ransom bitcoin. Bitcoin is less than 28,000 euros and the ransom isn’t huge to make sure people pay.
On a moral level, they would reject paying the ransom instead they need to consider the implications this can have on them with respect to the cost of the ransom. On a purely logical level, the answer is likewise no.
