It was discovered during the internal investigation that Kaunas University of Technology had experienced unauthorised access to personal data and other information processed in the impacted information systems.
Due to the issue, name, surname, PIN, residence address, phone number, email address, and private vehicle number plates of University workers were all accessible to criminal actors without authorization.
KTU makes sure that, despite material including specific photographs of documents belonging to university community members appearing in public areas, copies of these documents were not kept by the university in the compromised information systems.
As a result of this data's confidentially being violated, the university community may experience situations where attempts are made to act on their behalf or even to take over their identity without their knowledge or consent, gaining access to both their personal and professional accounts.
