An unauthorized person had accessed the database of Japanese travel agency JTB Corp. that exposed the personal information of 7.93 million people.
The attack compromised customer names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and passport numbers.
The Metropolitan Police Department investigated the incident and put efforts to prevent unauthorized access to servers and the leaking of information via virus infections.
