An unauthorized party gained access to the website of Jacksonville State University and stole students' personal information from JSU's database.
The compromised information included students' names, photographs, addresses birth dates, phone numbers, student ID numbers, fraternity and sorority affiliation and other information.
JSU investigated the incident with state and federal authorities and also asked the students to change their logins and email passwords as a preventive measure.
