The H-Hotels (h-hotels.com) chain was targeted in a cyber attack by the Play ransomware gang.
The cybercriminals broke through the extensive technical and organizational protection systems of IT in a professional attack.
However, the hotel chain immediately shut down and disconnected the IT systems from the Internet in order to prevent further spread of the cyber attack.
Though the attack didn’t affect guests’ bookings, the hotel staff were not able to receive or answer customer emails.
The ransomware gang also caimed to have stolen client documents, passports, IDs, and more, but they haven’t provided samples to back up their claims.
