Numerous consumers of Graeter's Ice Cream have received notifications that they were the victims of a data breach that exposed their credit card information.
An "unauthorized code" had been introduced to the website's checkout page, and the ice cream chain informed 12,000 consumers who had made purchases on Graeter's website last year.
As a result, thousands of customers who made purchases online in 2018 may be in danger, but customers who made purchases at physical retail locations are unaffected because those transactions take place on other systems.
