Gouverneur Hospital

St. Lawrence Health System says computers at Canton-Potsdam, Massena and Gouverneur hospitals were attacked by ransomware.

According to officials, it doesn't seem that any employee or patient information was compromised.

To stop further spread, the Information Systems (IS) division of the Health System shut down the impacted network and unplugged all systems.

Officials from the health system reported that the virus has been identified as a new Ryuk ransomware version and that it was found within hours after the initial attack.
