The furniture store Sommerlad in Giessen was attacked by professional hackers with a ransomware attack.
All of the company's servers were encrypted and backups were deleted.
The company had taken appropriate precautions in this area, and a large part of the data could be restored from the daily and spatially distributed backups.
Sommerlad investigated the incident and advised all customers to change their passwords, especially if these passwords were used identically by other providers.
