County of Humboldt

Humboldt County suffered from a data breach incident after the personal information of present and former employees was found on hacked payroll documents.

Many past and present employees of Humboldt County, as well as some of their dependents, had their sensitive personal information, such as social security numbers and bank account information, discovered in boxes of missing county records that mysteriously appeared in Trinity County.

The county concentrated on the affected individuals and made sure they had the supports they needed to defend themselves.
