CareSouth Carolina, Inc.

The Maine Office of the Attorney General reported that CareSouth Carolina experienced a data breach affecting 76,035 individuals due to an external system breach (hacking) discovered on November 24, 2020. The breach involved sensitive information, including names, dates of birth, addresses, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and, for a small number of patients, Social Security numbers. Identity theft protection services through IDX were offered following the incident, and notifications were sent on May 17, 2021.
