Hackers stole cryptocurrency valued at 35 billion won ($31.6 million), according to South Korean exchange Bithumb.
In reaction to the event, the exchange stopped user withdrawals, temporarily halted deposits, and transferred all money to cold wallets.
As of this writing, Bithumb has declared that it will reimburse losses but has not provided any information regarding the security incident.
Experts contended that the total amount of money taken at the time was higher than first believed.
