Bar Ilan University in Israel, was targeted by hackers in a ransomware attack and the attackers dumped some data after the university refused to pay the ransom.
Hundreds of thousands of documents and lists containing personal details of students and lecturers at Bar Ilan University have been leaked online.
The hackers known as “darkrypt” demanded some $2.5 million ransom that the institution refused to pay.
