A cyber attack has been launched against Yellow Pages Group, a Canadian directory publisher, according to BleepingComputer.

The ransomware and extortion group Black Basta has exposed private papers and data in an effort to take credit for the attack.

As soon as the business learned about the attack, they launched a thorough investigation into the matter with the aid of outside cyber security professionals in order to limit the crisis and make sure their systems were secure.

In addition, they claimed that servers hosting information about YP employees as well as some data pertaining to their corporate clients contained sensitive personal information that was stolen by an unauthorised third party.
