The Washington State Office of the Attorney General reported that on July 21, 2021, Welfare & Pension Administration Service, Inc. (WPAS) experienced a cyberattack involving malware that affected approximately 103,557 Washington residents. The breach potentially compromised various types of personal information including names, Social Security numbers, financial information, and health insurance information. WPAS began notifying clients and the affected individuals on January 3, 2022, with a prior notice on February 18, 2022.
