Ukraine Disrupts Russia’s Largest Online Marketplace in Coordinated Cyberattack
Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) announced it successfully disrupted operations at Wildberries, Russia’s largest e-commerce platform often compared to Amazon through a cyberattack designed to amplify the impact of recent drone strikes on the company’s infrastructure. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Cyber Corps hacker group, targeted Wildberries’ customer service, contact centers, and payment systems, causing widespread disruptions despite the platform’s reported strong security measures.
HUR stated the attack led to numerous customer complaints, including payment failures, though details remain unverified. The agency justified the strike by citing Wildberries’ role in Russia’s logistics network and its alleged contribution to war financing, including the sale of military equipment such as drone components and body armor.
The cyber operation coincided with kinetic strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, which have reportedly destroyed over 1.2 million square meters of Wildberries’ warehouse space and disabled seven of its ten largest logistics centers. While most products on the platform are consumer goods, HUR emphasized the company’s indirect support for Russia’s war effort.
Wildberries has not publicly responded to the attack or the reported damage. Ukraine’s military intelligence has increasingly combined cyber and physical strikes, as seen in previous operations targeting Tupolev aircraft systems (June 2025) and Russian election infrastructure (September 2024).
