Williams Accountancy Corporation Suffers Data Breach, Exposing Sensitive Client Information
Williams Accountancy Corporation, a California-based accounting firm, disclosed a data breach that compromised the personal and financial information of its clients. The incident occurred over two days December 25 and 26, 2025 when an unauthorized third party infiltrated the company’s network and exfiltrated sensitive files.
The breach was detected on December 30, 2025, prompting an internal investigation with support from a forensic security firm. The review, completed on February 5, 2026, confirmed that exposed data included personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and bank account details.
In response, Williams Accountancy is offering affected clients a complimentary membership to Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B, which includes credit monitoring from all three major bureaus, identity restoration support, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance. The company has also advised impacted individuals to monitor their financial accounts and consider placing fraud alerts or credit freezes. Additional guidance and contact information for credit bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission were provided in the official notice.
