VTB Bank, Russia’s second-largest financial institution suffered a cyberattack after a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack caused its website and mobile apps to go down.
The pro-Ukraine hacktivist group ‘IT Army of Ukraine’ claimed responsibility for the attack.
The purpose of the attack was to cause inconvenience to the bank’s customers by hindering the banking services operations.
