Virgin Media

Virgin Media has acknowledged that a database with the personal information of 900,000 people was left open and available online for ten months.

Phone numbers, home addresses, and email addresses were included in the database, which was used for marketing purposes.

It did not include passwords or financial details.

The business claimed that nearly all of those impacted were Virgin customers who had fixed-line or television subscriptions, while the database also contained some Virgin Mobile customers and potential consumers who were sent by friends as part of a promotion.
