Virginia Transportation Corporation, a nationwide automobile carrier and logistics provider based in West Warwick, Rhode Island, has confirmed a significant data breach affecting sensitive consumer information. The company, which transports vehicles for major automakers, dealerships, and other automotive industry stakeholders, detected unauthorized network activity on or around September 16, 2025.
Following a forensic investigation with external cybersecurity experts, Virginia Transportation determined that files were likely copied from its systems during the incident. By July 6, 2026, the company confirmed that exposed data included highly sensitive personal and financial information, such as:
