Utah Department of Family and Child Services suffered from a data breach incident in May 2017 after an employee’s vehicle was broken into and copies of identification records needed for background checks were stolen.

The incident exposed the private information of 16 people.

They investigated the incident and asked copies of identification should not leave an employee’s hands.
