The University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) has suffered a cybersecurity breach that has caused school closures for two days.
The institution stated in a statement that it "continues to retain control over its IT infrastructure" and that it "is working with a premier cyberforensics consultancy to identify, evaluate and eliminate any issues that are uncovered."
"Employees see that Red Cloak, a software tool, has been temporarily installed by IT on all university devices to identify and evaluate potential security concerns.
