Trump Mobile Confirms Data Breach Exposing Customer Personal Information
Trump Mobile has acknowledged a data breach that exposed customers' personal information, including emails, phone numbers, home addresses, and transaction identifiers. The incident stemmed from a vulnerability in an external support platform provider, though the company has not publicly identified the third party responsible.
Chris Walker, a spokesperson for Trump Mobile, confirmed that the breach did not originate from the device’s network, systems, or infrastructure. While the company is still investigating the full scope of the exposure, it has found no evidence that customer content or financial data was compromised. Despite admitting the data was accessible online, Trump Mobile is still evaluating whether to notify affected users.
The breach came to light after creators Coffeezilla and penguinz0 publicly revealed they had previously warned the company about the vulnerability without receiving a response. The incident adds to existing concerns surrounding the device’s launch, which has faced multiple delays originally scheduled for August 2025, then October, before finally shipping this week.
Additional controversies include the revelation that the phone, marketed as U.S.-manufactured, is actually a rebranded HTC U224 Pro produced in Taiwan. A design error was also discovered: the American flag engraving on the device features eleven stripes instead of the official thirteen.
The company has clarified that confirmed pre-orders stand at 30,000, a significant drop from the initially rumored 600,000 reservations. The breach raises further questions about Trump Mobile’s data security practices as it moves forward with device distribution.
