The Steamship Authority of Massachusetts was affected by ransomware attack in June 2021.

The attack affected the main booking systems and affected the ferry services from Cape Cod to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

The Steamship Authority however did not pay any ransom and investigated the incident with the help of local, state, and federal officials.
