Edinburgh City Council fell victim to a cyberattack that resulted in the theft of 13,000 email addresses.
The hosting service or CDN or cloud provider of the council was targeted in an attack by the hackers that caused the breach.
The council contacted everyone who was affected by the attack and offered them advice and support.
