The town of Sunset Beach was targeted in a series of ransomware attacks for about six weeks around the month of July which disturbed its operations.
The computer systems were disrupted and files stored on the systems were encrypted.
However, the IT department restored 99% of the files and installed equipment and software to prevent any such further incidents.
