South Walton Fire District suffered a data breach incident after an unauthorized party accessed their network.
The breach compromised patients’ potentially affected information including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, treatment dates, medical diagnostic and treatment information, and health insurance information for patients transported by or treated by SWFD.
SWFD secured their digital environment without paying any ransom and immediately moved forward from the incident by enacting further layers of data security.
