A community college near Sacramento, Sierra College was hit by ransomware in May 2021 which caused network outages.
Many students expressed worries regarding class registration in the comments section underneath the college's post, some of whom claimed that the hack had removed them from their waiting-list positions.
Sierra advised students to access information on instruction at https://live-sierra-college-landing.pantheonsite.io.
They investigated the incident and took immediate action and recovered the systems to start the class without disturbance.
