Various municipalities within the Department of Seine-Saint-Denis in the French region of Île-de-France were targeted in a ransomware attack last December.

The ransomware group Hive penetrated the IT systems of the Syndicat Intercommunal d’Informatique (SII), an IT service provider, and stole several files related to sensitive information of different municipalitites.

The Hive group demanded a ransom price of $ 500,000 in bitcoins for the list of files stolen during the cyber attack.
