On March 9, 2016, the California Office of the Attorney General reported that Seagate US, LLC experienced a data breach on March 1, 2016, involving a phishing email that disclosed W-2 information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and earnings of Seagate employees. Approximately the same number as employees who received a W-2 for the 2015 tax year were affected.
