Sankt Vinzenz Hospital Rheda-Wiedenbrück

The Lockbit 3.0 ransomware most certainly encrypted the systems of three hospitals.

The Sankt Vinzenz Hospital Rheda-Wiedenbrück, the Mathilden Hospital Herford, and the Franziskus Hospital Bielefeld are the impacted clinics.

The attackers selectively encrypted data stored in the hospitals' IT systems.

As soon as the attack was discovered, the responsible staff quickly turned off the systems for security concerns.

To shed light on the issue and safeguard all data, a group of internal and external IT security experts is currently putting in a lot of effort.
