Saint Thomas Health and Ascension suffered from the data breach incident that exposed 2,859 patients' information.
The exposed documents contained patients’ names, dates of birth, admitting diagnoses, account numbers, and physicians’ names.
Hospital representatives confirmed that the documents did not contain social security numbers or patient medical records.
They hired a service provider who made sure that "all storage data are adequately safeguarded and accounted for till deletion.
