Ruby Receptionist, a phone receptionist service provider for thousands of small businesses, suffered a major outage that knocked it offline all week after its online vendor suffered a cyber attack.

The attack left the company unable to accept any incoming calls or online messages and it had to ask its clients to stop forwarding their phone calls to Ruby.

However, the company rebuilt its systems on Amazon’s servers and resumed its service in a short span of time.
