REIC Rentals LLC Discloses Data Breach Affecting Personal Information
REIC Rentals LLC (also known as Rental Equipment Investment Corp.), a super-regional equipment rental company, recently reported a data breach that occurred in early February 2026. The company detected unusual activity on its network and launched an investigation, confirming that an unauthorized party accessed or opened certain files between February 3 and February 5, 2026.
A preliminary review of the impacted data was completed on February 23, 2026, revealing that exposed information included names and Social Security numbers. The total number of affected individuals nationwide has not been disclosed.
REIC began notifying impacted consumers on or around April 7, 2026, and also reported the breach to the Nebraska Attorney General.
In response, the company is offering 12 months of complimentary Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring to affected individuals. Those eligible must enroll by June 30, 2026, using an activation code provided in their notification letter.
