Rainbow Children’s Clinic in Texas was the victim of a ransom ware attack that encrypted the data stored on the Clinic’s servers.
The unknown hacker gained access of 33,368 patients records files and downloaded a subset of those files including patient’s names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical information, Social Security numbers, and medical payment information.
The computer system was shut down immediately to prevent loss of patient information.
