Radford City Public Schools Hit by Cybersecurity Incident During Summer Break

Radford City Public Schools disclosed a cybersecurity incident on Tuesday, affecting portions of its computer network. Superintendent Adam Joyce notified families via email, confirming that security protocols were immediately activated upon discovery. The division has engaged top cybersecurity experts and is collaborating with state and federal law enforcement to investigate the source and scope of the breach.

The timing of the incident during summer break has minimized disruption, as summer school operations remain unaffected. Joyce emphasized that critical safety systems, including security cameras, doors, and phone lines, continue to function normally. However, other internal systems are undergoing restoration.
