ProctorTrack, an online proctoring service, has stopped access to their service following a hack of its parent firm.

Emails sent by the hacker from the Verificient Support account started to reach students.

The company and ProctorTrack were erroneously said to be ceasing operations in this communication, which also contained racial obscenities.

After that, Verificient quickly shut down ProctorTrack and issued an apology for the hacker's emails, which were sent out yesterday at 4 pm EST.

Students have voiced concern about their school's use of ProctorTrack after getting the emails and learning that the service had been compromised.
