PNORS Technology Group, a technology group which provides services to government departments suffered a ransomware attack recently.
The two of its businesses, Datatime and Netway, were the target of a cyber attack by the Vice Society group.
The incident was limited to systems being encrypted and locked but PNORS Technology Group businesses deal with document and data capture, digital conversion and managed IT support for a number of external clients, including government departments.
Thus the breach can affect a large number of the population.
The Victorian government was also one of its clients and was investigating the incident on their end.
