Pennant Hills Golf Club Targeted in Qilin Ransomware Attack
Pennant Hills Golf Club, a historic private golf club in Australia’s Hills District founded in 1923, has been listed as a victim of the Qilin ransomware gang on the dark web. The attack was disclosed overnight, though minimal details have been released about the incident.
The listing does not specify whether data was stolen, the nature of any compromised information, or ransom demands. Cyber Daily has contacted the club for further details but has not yet received a response.
Qilin, one of the most active ransomware operations globally, has claimed nearly 2,000 victims across 99 countries since 2022. Operating under a ransomware-as-a-service model, the group averages around 100 victim listings per month in 2026. Some affiliates provide extensive details of their attacks, while others like in this case post only basic information, such as the victim’s logo and the date of the leak.
This follows Qilin’s recent targeting of Australian K-12 tutoring provider Kinetic Education on June 8, where similarly sparse details were shared. The lack of transparency in both cases leaves the full scope of the breaches unclear.
