Pacific Alliance Medical Center

Pacific Alliance Medical Center

Pacific Alliance Medical Center was targeted by a ransomware attack that exposed 266,123 patients' information.

The medical and personal information on the servers affected by the virus included: names, demographic information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, employment information, health insurance information, and health information, including, for example, treatment, diagnosis, and related information and medical images.

They improved virus detection and other security measures to stop unauthorized users from accessing computers.

To try to avoid future occurrences of this kind, they took additional measures.

As an additional precaution, PAMC has made identity theft protection services available to those who might be impacted for free for a two-year period.

In addition to being available by phoning the toll-free number provided below, instructions for signing up for credit monitoring were included in the notification letters.

PAMC asked patients and employees to remain vigilant by regularly reviewing their account statements, monitoring free credit reports, and reporting to their financial institutions any suspicious activity.
