OMAN UNITED INSURANCE CO SAOG

Oman United Insurance Co SAOG, one of the largest insurers in the country was hit by a “ransomware attack” on the company’s data center early this month.

Its systems were attacked on January 1st and said has lost some data relating to the period from 10/12/2019 to 1/1/2020.

The main server was hit and some data was also infected and encrypted.

The company suspended online operations for one day (Thursday, January 2, 2020).
