Due to a ransomware attack on the rural school system, Oglethorpe County kids stayed in their homes.
It was discovered that the county's phone and computer systems were destroyed by the attack.
Students at Oglethorpe University won't be back in the classroom until after Thanksgiving break, which is the following week.
There was no mention of the kind of ransomware involved or the identity of the threat actors, and there is no warning on their website.
None of the specialised leak sites utilised by about a dozen different ransomware gangs contain Oglethorpe. Of fact, there are a lot more than a dozen threat actors or ransomware gangs.
