Nth Degree Data Breach Settlement Offers Compensation to Affected Individuals

Nth Degree Inc. has agreed to a class action settlement following a December 2024 data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 38,953 current and former customers, contractors, and employees. The breach, which occurred between December 12 and December 20, 2024, compromised names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers.

Eligible individuals those notified of the breach or whose data was accessed may file claims for compensation, including up to $3,500 for documented financial losses, a $50 alternative cash payment, or three years of credit monitoring services. California residents qualify for an additional $100 payment. Claims must be submitted by July 30, 2026, with payments expected approximately 90 days after the court’s final approval on August 19, 2026.

The lawsuit alleged Nth Degree failed to adequately protect sensitive data, though the company denies wrongdoing and settled to avoid further litigation. The settlement fund will cover administration costs, up to $260,000 in attorneys' fees, and service awards of up to $5,000 for class representatives.
