Nissan was targeted by the hacktivist group Anonymous in a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in January 2016.
It took its website offline and temporarily suspended service on it to prevent further risks.
The attack was apparently initiated by Anonymous in “#OpWhales” campaign to spread awareness about the killing of dolphins in the cove in Taiji and not for any customer or consumer data.
