Nebraska Medicine acknowledged being the target of a cyber attack. The attack resulted in a considerable period of disruption for its IT infrastructure, which resulted in numerous postponed appointments throughout the week.
According to Nebraska Medicine, it alerted law police and developed comprehensive backup preparations. Patients with appointments or surgeries that are essential to their health and wellbeing have been given priority.
Nebraska Medicine issued a statement stating that for the patients that were seen, personnel manually recorded and transmitted information using alternate, standardised protocols.
The medical facility said that no patients had been diverted and that its emergency room had remained open.
